today to schedule a free, no-obligation, 15-minute phone consultation to learn if we are a good fit.

Hi, I'm

    Sabrina

Welcome!

I'm so glad that you found your way here. I hope to help you on your path toward healing.

I work with people who see the world a bit differently because I do too.

I've been a therapist for over a decade, and I've been in the helping professions since 2000. I use strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theories to guide our work. This means we're going to have a conversation. I'm not just going to sit there and nod or ask, "Now, how does that make you feel?"

My degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Art Therapy.

No, I'm not going to make you "do art" or if we do make art (or music or write, etc.), I'm not going to interpret your work. Most of the time, our work is through spoken language, but if we get stuck or if it's something that interests you, I am trained to integrate expressive arts into session. This training makes therapy with me look a bit different than you may have experienced before.

Prior to opening Guided Growth Counseling,

I worked for many non-profit and social service agencies. Over the years, I've worked in several different school settings including preschool, after-school, middle school, colleges, and a therapeutic school for children with severe emotional and behavioral challenges. I spent some time working with individuals who struggle with intellectual and developmental challenges. I also served as an Assistant Clinical Director at a large mental health organization that supported people with severe and persistent mental illness. Here, I supervised clinicians working in-home and in group living environments. I have also worked as a licensed mental health counselor, outpatient therapist, and supervisor at a large non-profit organization. These experiences have allowed me to work with a wide range of people.

Work is not all that I do. I encourage us all to have a healthy work-life or school-life balance. I am also a wife and mother of two and cook, crafter, camper, animal-lover, and enthusiastically poor gardener. My dog Hazel would say that we don't play enough frisbee, ever.

Are we a good fit? If you are looking for a therapist who is willing to dive in deep and work with you, have a REAL conversation (I'm not a wall), and share some tools and tips, give me a call or send me a text or email and we can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation.

Send me an email today and we can schedule a time to chat.
